We have started using sourcforge's SVN server for our source control needs,
which means that the HANS code is now released under GNU General Public License. You can download the source and see if you find something interesting in it :)

This Blog will record the building of HANS - HUJI's Autonomous Navigation System. Hans will be an autonomous robot which will navigate the Givaat-Ram campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. HANS will be made of a laptop that resides on a metallic wheeled platform. It will use a GPS, sonar range detector and a video camera to sense its surroundings

HANS is developed at the school of Engineering and Computer Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

finally! i have been waiting all my life for a second rate autonomous navigation prototype for a 1 cm/s flat surface vehicle!
Actually Hans can travel at 20-40cm/s
which is not that slow :)
is that your intended operational velocity, or the platform's maximum velocity?
